H&S System Review
We can conduct a review of your arrangements for health and safety within your organisation. We do this by working with you or your management representative to review your safety management policies and procedures and to identify how they can best fit with your business. A full report with recommendations can cover all of the key components including policy, organisation, planning, measurement, audit and review in accordance with HSG65 ‘Successful Health & Safety Management’.
We can provide assistance with identifying the hazards associated with your activities and complete a risk assessment based on your current management arrangements. Risk assessments include recommendations to further manage the risk to an acceptable level.
If required specific risk assessments can be undertaken for individual hazards or activities, including Work at Height, Hazardous Substances (COSHH), Lone Working, Manual Handling, and Young Persons etc.
Safety, Environment & Quality Policies and Procedures
We can assist you with the initial development or revamp of your policies and all supporting procedures and documents. These policies and procedures will be user friendly and shall be designed to fit your business activities. This can be done in preparation of a third party compliance audit or simply to bring about improved business performance.
Simply put, auditing is a process of checking what is in place is meeting your expectations (say what you do…do what you say). At Guardian Compliance we can agree an audit protocol that meets your needs and includes a check of the management system as well as a physical on-site inspection. We can report findings and recommendations for the whole business or on a site by site basis.
A measure of the quality of your business management system(s) is to gain external accreditation in the form of OHSAS 18001 (Health & Safety Management Systems), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) and ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems). Working with you we can assist with documenting your processes and checking that your arrangements will meet external audit and review to gain any or all of these valuable benchmark standards.
Fire Risk Assessment
The Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations and The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order require all non domestic premises to conduct and regularly review a Fire Risk Assessment (FRA). Guardian Compliance have qualified and experienced Advisers who can work with the ‘Responsible Person’ or ‘Duty Holder’ to consider the range of hazards associated with the location and activities as well as current management arrangements, preventative measures and emergency response. We will then produce your FRA with prioritised recommended actions to enable compliance. As part of the service we will provide discounted e-learning Fire Safety training for your employees to help you meet your legal obligation to train.
Guardian Compliance can undertake physical inspections of your workplace(s) providing appropriate reports with prioritised recommendations, helping you meet the intent of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
Access to Goods and Services
The Equality Act requires that providers of goods and services do not discriminate against those who may have a disability. This may include employees, customers and visitors to premises. We can assist with an audit and advice that considers access issues and provides pragmatic solutions and recommendations to make the environment user friendly and accessible.
Environmental Aspects and Impacts
We can help you to understand how your organisation may affect the environment by assisting you to compile an Environmental Aspects and Impacts Register and identifying how these can be reduced.
Environmental Risk Assessments
A competent Adviser will identify the range of hazards associated with your activities and complete a risk assessment based on your current management arrangements and will recommend additional actions to manage the risk to an acceptable level.
If required specific risk assessments can be undertaken for individual hazards or activities.
Environmental Policy and Procedures
We can assist you with the development or updating of your Environment Policy and all supporting procedures and documents. These policies and procedures will be designed to reflect the nature of your organisation and its activities.
